Detectability of MBHB with measured masses. [4.5 yr]

FoM

- OK 208 [100 200 250] : SO6 detectable Pop3 sources with measured masses.

- OK 35 [20 30 40] : SO6 detectable Q3d sources with measured masses.

- GREAT 536 [100 300 400] : SO6 detectable Q3nd sources with measured masses.

Sources with SNR > 8.0, \(dm_1 / m_1\) < 0.3 and \(dm_2 / m_2\) < 0.5.

Summary

We took a catalog of MBHB events (for the populations Pop3, Q3d, Q3nd) and, for each population, build 10 realisations for a mission duration of 4.5 years. We then computed the SNR and the errors in parameter estimation for each realisation source, and, counted the number of detectable SNR > 8.0 sources and, among these, the number of sources with \(dm_1 / m_1\) < 0.3 and \(dm_2 / m_2\) < 0.5. For each population we selected the realisation with the best, the worst and the median number of such sources. The table is reported below.

Realisation sources detectable [*] measured masses[**] Real. index
Best Pop3. 770 235 232 1
Median Pop3. 781 209 208 8
Worst Pop3. 715 180 180 7
Best Q3d. 39 38 38 3
Median Q3d. 35 35 35 4
Worst Q3d. 26 26 26 2
Best Q3nd. 574 573 558 5
Median Q3nd. 553 546 536 7
Worst Q3nd. 482 478 473 3

[*] detectable: SNR > 8.0.

[**] measured masses: SNR > 8.0, \(dm_1 / m_1\) < 0.3 and \(dm_2 / m_2\) < 0.5

The FOMs above and the plots below use, for each model, the realisation corresponding to the median number of detectable sources with measured masses.
