Capability to constrain/detect GW echoes from exotic compact objects

Summary

We use low frequency cutoff 0.0001 Hz, and a reference remnant with mass M = 1.0e+06, dimensionless spin = 0.7, SNR_ringdown = 519.3, and assume that the remnant has a reflectivity |R|^2= 0.1.

For this reference system, we should be able to measure the reflectivity with an accuracy:

  • \(\Delta\) |R|/|R|$ < \(100\) % (green)
  • \(\Delta\) |R|/|R| < \(1000\) % (yellow)
  • \(\Delta\) |R|/|R| < \(0.1\) % (blue)

The measurement accuracy on the object effective reflectivity from echo searches is 1.2 %
