Estimation of EMRI detection horizon z (3.5 yr)

FoM

Redshift corresponding to SNR=20.0 as a function of the system masses.

- OK 2.44 [1.5 2.0 3.0] : Horizon z with M_0=2e+05 and mu_0=10

Detection horizon (z at SNR=20.0) for an EMRI with masses 10 and 2e+05.

- OK 5.35 [4.5 5.0 6.0] : Horizon z with M_0=2e+05 and mu_0=30

Detection horizon (z at SNR=20.0) for an EMRI with masses 30 and 2e+05.

Summary

For different values of the EMRI system mu_0 mass we fixed one value of the system M_0 mass (see table) and generated 400 sources randomizing over the sky position at z=1.0. From this set of sources we selected the sky parameters maximising SNR for each value of mu_0. We then considered multiple M_0 values for each mu_0 and, fixing the sky parameters to the selected optimal values, we computed the z corresponding to SNR=20.0 (rescaled by the duty cycle).
